As a member of the bet36365体育 Teacher Scholars, you’ll be part of a community of passionate future educators who share your goals and aspirations. From day one, you’ll have built-in support, mentorship, and guidance to help you succeed. Plus, you'll live alongside your fellow Teacher Scholars on the second floor of Randall Hall, creating a strong network of peers right where you live and learn. As a part of the Education Learning Community, you will:

• Grow together with fellow students by taking important classes as a cohort.
• Participate in academic and social activities that foster community, such as leadership skills workshops, enhanced drop in spaces, faculty chats, and more.
• Experience a virtual learning community with students and faculty, along with Nebraska K-12 teachers and administrators.
• Engage in meaningful experiences in K-12 schools throughout your program beginning freshman year. Engagement will progress developmentally from observation to full class responsibilities.

Program Eligibility

High school students who have been admitted to the University of Nebraska at Kearney for the 2025-2026 academic year may apply if they meet ONE of the following criteria:

• High School GPA of at least 3.5
• Minimum composite ACT score of 22 or SAT composite score of 1140 OR a class rank in the top 25% of their high school graduating class.

Scholarship Details

This program will have a special emphasis on first-generation students from Nebraska and other states who are committed to pursuing teaching careers both in rural schools and in diverse metropolitan districts.

Students in the College of Education will receive a $1000 housing waiver and $1000 in other COE scholarships (minimum).

1. Complete the Admitted Incoming Freshman Scholarship Application* in MyBlue by the March 1, 2025 deadline.
2. Complete the bet36365体育 Teacher Scholars application by the March 1, 2025 deadline.

You must be admitted to bet36365体育 to be eligible. Apply to bet36365体育 if you haven’t.

*By submitting the Admitted Incoming Freshman Scholarship Application for fall 2025, students can apply for additional Teacher Education Scholarships. There is an additional $24,000 available for qualified applicants.
